Welcome to the new website of the UBC Graduate School of Journalism. The redesigned site sports a clean and elegant look that will provide a better and more intuitive experience.
With our new site, we are highlighting the range of activities of the school, faculty, students and alumni, using a rotating feature section on the homepage.
We’re also showcasing the journalism of our talented students and alumni on the homepage, giving greater prominence to their work.
The homepage also features a link to our iTunes U site where we regularly post talks about journalism from guests such as Globe and Mail editor-in-chief John Stackhouse and New York Times science essayist Carl Zimmer.
On individual pages, there are links to a range of UBC Journalism web projects, such as the online student publication, TheThunderbird.ca.
Social media has become a major part of our online experience since we last redesigned the site. We’ve made it more social by incorporating updates from our Facebook page on the homepage.
It is now easier to tell friends about things you’ve seen on the UBC journalism site. Every page has buttons so that you can share the content on Facebook, Twitter and more with a simple click of a mouse.
Many faculty are also active on Twitter, sharing news, links, job opportunities and more. We’ve listed some of them on the homepage so that you can find their accounts and connect with them.
The redesign also adds the new UBC online branding along the top of the site. It reflects the visual identity and online reputation of the University of British Columbia by providing a common look, feel and functionality to UBC websites.
The site was redesigned by Vancouver-based web developers, Hop Studios.
