The School of Journalism, Writing, and Media offers undergraduate writing and journalism courses to students across all faculties at UBC.
A newly-launched Journalism and Social Change Minor starting in September 2023 provides students with foundational knowledge in journalism skills, critical thinking and analytical news literacy, relationship-building and ethics, and understanding the role of journalism in and its response to social change.
The school continues to expand its undergraduate course offerings with the introduction of the Minor in Writing and Communications. Students will be provided with a program that focuses on writing and communication practices used to make knowledge, share knowledge, and mobilize knowledge within and across academic disciplines, professional, and public contexts.
