The 2008 federal election will be the first Canadian election in which new forms of journalism and social media will play a large role in the media coverage.
The School of Journalism has created NetPrimeMinister.ca to provide continual updates on the public conversation about the election.
NetPrimeMinister.ca shows how the candidates to be Canada’s next prime minister are being covered in social media from blogs to Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. These will include, live from the campaign trail, images, videos and text from voters and citizen journalists.
The site was inspired by the online political coverage of U.S.-based TechPresident.
