Elizabeth Levine (‘02) has been appointed Executive Director of Development at Brightlight Pictures, a company that has produced such films and television programs as White Noise, Fifty Dead Men Walking, Wicker Man and The Guard.
“We are delighted to have Liz join the Brightlight team,” said company principal Shawn Williamson. “She has a unique eye and key relationships that will contribute to the company’s growth and our expanding slate.”
“Liz’s enthusiasm and diverse background in film, television and new media will be great assets as Brightlight continues to expand,” added co-principal Stephen Hegyes.
Levine began her career after graduation as a print journalist for The National Post and Playback Magazine, but soon became an independent producer, working with CHUM Television, CBC, and CITY TV. She established the award-winning company, Beetle Box Media, which produced numerous new media and film properties for Bravo!, Global Television, CHUM Television and Showcase. She was named Director of Development of No Equal Entertainment in 2006, and served as new media producer on the series jPod, based on the Douglas Copeland novel.
“I am very excited to be a part of such a prolific and successful company,” Levine said of her new appointment. “I look forward to the opportunity of developing and producing for the international marketplace.”
