The incoming class of 2028 brings together students from across Canada and beyond, including China, Taiwan, Turkey, and the USA.
With academic and professional backgrounds spanning disciplines such as Asian Area Studies, Communications, First Nations and Indigenous Studies, Economics, English, Liberal Arts, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology, this diverse cohort brings a wide range of knowledge, experiences, and perspectives to the program.
This diversity enriches classroom discussions, giving students opportunities to share unique stories shaped by their cultures, communities, and personal experiences. Working alongside peers from around the world helps students develop a broader understanding of global issues and strengthens their ability to report on stories with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Over the next two years, these students will embark on an immersive academic journey designed to develop essential skills and expertise needed to succeed in a changing media landscape.
Classes kicked off immediately after orientation, with the foundational Integrated Journalism course holding its first session on Tuesday.
