Congratulations to all the students in the Class of 2022 and 2023 on joining the School of Journalism, Writing, and Media in-person this academic year. The Master of Journalism classes comprise of a diverse cohort. Students from all over the world including China, Columbia, Nigeria, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nepal, United Kingdom, USA, and Canada have joined the program.
While some students bring the rich experiences of their previous master’s degree, some also bring the diversification of academic backgrounds including Political Science, Computer Science, English Literature, Graphic and Communications Design, Media Sciences, International Relations, Mass Media and Communications, Film and Media, French, Sociology and Anthropology. The multidisciplinary background of each student enriches and enhances in-class discussions and journalistic approaches to storytelling on complex issues.
The program offers specialized courses to shape journalists that are well-equipped with rich academic knowledge that they can further practically implement in their on-field projects. Working with faculty members who are also industry experts creates a strong foundation for the students and their career in journalism.
