Registration in WRDS 150 or WRDS 151
Due to limited availability, students are permitted to register into one section of WRDS 150/151 for either Term 1 or Term 2 of the Winter Session.
- Students in other faculties may register into a section of WRDS 150.
- Students in the Faculty of Arts may register into a section of WRDS 151.
- When sections start to fill up and begin to close, students can choose to place themselves into a WRDS course-wide waitlist for their preferred term.

Placement from a Waitlist into a WRDS Section
Registration priority from a waitlist into all WRDS courses will be given to students, who:
- Make available - space on one's course timetable to avoid conflict with other courses.
- Have enough credits - to take the course.
- Have no active registration holds - (i.e. finance)
- Due to time constraints, the WRDS Office is unable to process swap requests.
Students, who are registered in a section of the course, are welcome to swap themselves into any available open section that becomes available, up until the Add/Drop Date. Students who are already in a WRDS section will be removed from the waitlists and section preference forms without further notice.
Waitlist Section ID's & Opening / Closing Dates
When waitlists open, usually during the registration period, please register yourself into one of the WRDS course-wide waitlists below.
- Term 1 waitlist sections
- WRDS_V 150-WL1 (for students in non-Arts)
- WRDS_V 151-WL1 (for student in Arts)
- Term 1 Waitlists will close on Thursday, August 20, or earlier - if the seating capacity has been reached before the closing date.
- Term 2 waitlist section IDs:
- WRDS_V 150-WL2 (non-Arts)
- WRDS_V 151-WL2 (Arts)
- Term 2 Waitlists will close on December 17, or earlier - if the seating capacity has been reached before the closing date.
Please contact wrds.advisor@ubc.ca if the waitlists fill-up and close before the “waitlist closing dates”.
Optional Section Preference Forms
You must be on on the course-wide waitlist in Workday to fill out the optional Section Preference form (s) below:

WRDS 151 Winter Term 2 Section Preference Form
If you choose not to fill out a preference form you will be placed into any available section that works with your course schedule, if or when, seats open up in the course.

Taking WRDS 150 significantly changed my perspective on academic research. I was exposed to scholarly articles that explored various issues in international development, hence getting a head-start on the questions I would face as an international economics student.
